Balangkayan is a coastal municipality in the province of Eastern Samar.
The municipality has a land area of 207.05 square kilometers or 79.94 square miles which constitutes 4.48% of Eastern Samar's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 10,185. This represented 2.13% of the total population of Eastern Samar province, or 0.22% of the overall population of the Eastern Visayas region.
