Balindong, formerly known as Watu, is a landlocked municipality in the coastal province of Lanao del Sur.
The municipality has a land area of 453.94 square kilometers or 175.27 square miles which constitutes 3.02% of Lanao del Sur's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 32,573. This represented 2.72% of the total population of Lanao del Sur province, or 0.74% of the overall population of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
